A year past a quarter of century. What a number.

"Kemarin adalah hari terakhir untuk aku menyambut hari ini. Betapa aku menghindarinya, pasti aku harus menghadapi.
Hari ini adalah hari yang seharusnya tidak biasa untukku. Hari yang biasa dianggap hari spesial, tapi tidak menurutku."

I woke up this morning, as usual as these days,
I feel like to write something for the reflection,
what exciting things happened over the past year.

:

My decision to resign from the office was such a serious consideration. Since then, I put my life to KROMA Kaffe and Kiosk which took me to many lessons to learn, acquaintances, and the experiences to value. Tho' these efforts haven't reached the maximum results, I am (read: we are) working on it. This is one of the most beautiful gift in my life.

After resigning, for the first time, I was hospitalized due to diarrhea—along with the blood. I was totally recovered after a month of hospital treatment that bored me to death. I humbly say, healthiness is the greatest happiness.

Another exciting thing was when Edward and I travelled to Japan. It was an ordinary trip, but somehow, we found that every little things were displayed beautifully in the right showcase. Japan is white; the white that can be colored with various color, Japan is full of creative people, Japan is full of inspiration, and... I am inspired.

The last thing I am very grateful for is there are still a lot of people who support me, encourage me every time and every day. Meeting the old friends and the new people, supporting me, encouraging me, repeat. The great year passed. I am truly blessed!

I will keep dreaming until I could not dream anymore. Because a dream is something that is very beautiful and it has no limit. "The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams," —indeed.

Transit selama 5 jam di bandara Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Tidak terasa. Kami masih terlalu sibuk karena excited. Membaca kembali itinerary sambil menyeruput Ice Coffee-nya McDonald. Takut gak mau pulang.

Take off lagi...

Plewo Doi by Noesa

Ple·wo Do·i
verb

"to introduce"
in Sikka language (Maumere, Flores, NTT)

These are the people who had the important role in Plewo Doi, the cultural event that took place at Museum Tekstil and Dia.Lo.Gue Artspace on 2-24 May 2015. With this event, they aimed to introduce Sikka’s culture, the process of tenun ikat and natural dye.

They are (left to right) Octoriko, Cendy, Daniel David, and Annisa.

They are the women behind the beautiful kain tenun ikat Sikka (Maumere, Flores, NTT).

This fabric-making process requires quite a long time: from cotton planting, natural colors making, cotton-to-yarn spinning, pattern tying, natural dyeing, and weaving.

No wonder, it takes more patience and persistence in the process of making. I am… truly amazed!

...And the photo below proves that we are still working together since we were in the college. ❤❤❤

I am so happy to be a part of Plewo Doi at Dia.Lo.Gue Artspace! Hopefully, there will be a chance like this in the future. Hopefully this kind of event can be held every year, because the main objective is to approach the young generation about the culture of Indonesia.

Keep on the good work, guys!

GOOD Food, GOOD Mood

A month of hospital treatment... really bored me to death. Just because of the bad habits in consuming spicy and unhygienic foods, I was diagnosed with Colitis ulserative.

The first symptom I experienced was the defecation along with the blood.

Initially, maybe I was just lack of drinking water. So I began to have a plenty of water and had the high-fiber foods.

But in the reality, it didn't stop. The case was getting worse as I had diarrhea afterwards. So after 2 weeks, I was brought to the hospital.

RS Mitra Kemayoran, Jakarta (1-5 April 2015)

Island Hospital, Penang (27-29 April 2015)

.

.

I had endoscopy back then.

I was discharged by Island Hospital after 3 days being treated. I was totally recovered. But... I still had to control to the food I consumed (should not be spicy, oily, and unhygienic) and must be taking medication regularly.

Thank you for all of my friends, my lecturers, my bosses, and all of my relatives who keep sending the prayer and the attention to me.

Thanks God for everything.

A Short Getaway: Taman Safari

This time we chose Taman Safari for our short getaway as Anno came and visited Jakarta.

Because of chitchatting until dawn, we woke up late. We planned to leave at 5am, but actually we just woke up at 6am, and set off at half past eight.

The traffic was... really... bad...

We took a shortcut and got to Taman Safari around 2pm. We walked around the zoo and not long after that, there was the heavy rain pouring. Yes, we had no time to enjoy any facilities there.

Our trip was closed with the tongseng–which had always been our favorite–in PSK (Sate Center Kiloan).

Although this could be considered as a really really short getaway, I was very happy anyway. We didn't stop sharing gossip. And the important thing is staying together... :)

Thanks Anno Astaputri, Cendy Mirnaz, and Daniel Prima Putra for this super fun day! #folkindonesia

Dream A Dream

I always imagined a dream is something that is very beautiful and it has no limit.

A quarter of a century, sounds very mature. There are millions of things that are still on the lists.

And I remember...
"The future belongs to those who believe in their dreams."

Bukan Strat Chat: Preparation

I had been so confuse to show my best costume on #BukanStratChat.
SO, I thought the bloody thing was going to work.

It's 05:00 in the morning

I mixed red food coloring with Betadine. As you see, to make the bloody crumbles, I added up some drops of Albothyl.

Welcome to my murder scene...

First, I soaked my high school shirt with the coffee and splashed it with Betadine. Then, I poured the bloody liquid onto it.

Total cost: ± IDR 30.000 + high school memories

TAA-DAA! This was the masterpiece. I really enjoyed it...

The easy-peasy make up tutorial to try. Try to apply on your neck and face.

09:00 in the night

I actually looked like: the high school student who was about to be killed.

Thank you Erica Lie for the make-up set!
Gonna make the better work next year!

Meloveric Love Story

"Ve, can you help me to design my wedding invitation?"
"OH, my Goddess! Mei, are you getting married?"

*I screamed happily*

Meilani is my friend from high school. We were desk mate on the first grade of the science major. We were very undisciplined and disobedient. With our friend Raymond, we always cheated on the exam. We shared our meals and our love story.

And now she's married to Eric, her church friend. I can't believe it!

Good friends. Good time. Best moment.
Me, Edward, Sampad, Flobert, Fyanna, Meilani, Eric, Fyonna, Ivan, Raymond

Congratulation Meilani Lim and Dwi Erianto!

I wish the both of you a lifetime of happiness.
So keep loving each other, keep giving birth to many children, and stay together until the death do you apart.
Hope you like the sexy linge*rie from us, Mei! This is also for you, Eric! ;)

Belitung: Beyond Horizon (Part 2)

Wednesday, 1 October 2014 – Day #2

Today we would be having fun with the sea. We had breakfast, sunblock *check*, sunglasses *check*, and here we go!

To go to Pulau Lengkuas took about 30 minutes by the speed boat. As we arrived, we jumped from the rock to the rock to took the photograph on it. There was a lighthouse that was used to guard Bangka-Belitung island. To reach the top, we had to climb 18 stairs or about 60 meter height.

We went to offshore to snorkeling. The tour guide asked us to feed the fishes with the bread, the fishes came in hurry.

Kepayang Island Conservation Center was a turtle breeding place. The newly hatched turtles were treated and they would be let go when they were ready to face the ocean. Here was also a diving center. We took a bath and had lunch here.

Pulau Batu Pelayar was a small island in the middle of the ocean. There were some huge rocks that looked like a sailing ship.

We had our dinner at Belitung Timpo Duluk Restaurant, an ancient-style restaurant. There are a lot of old stuff on the wall and on the tables. (Maybe) it is hard to find in these days.

Thursday, 2 October 2014 – Day #3

Museum Belitung or Museum Tanjung Pandan became our first destination. The museum was located at Jalan Melati and the ticket price was IDR 2,000. There were the relics rocks from the tin mining, the relics items from Belitung kingdoms, the relics war equipments, and collections from the sunken cargo ships. And there was mini zoo in the back. Do you know that they have the crocodile in Laskar Pelangi film? Yes, they do...

Danau Kaolin was formed of the tin dredging since the 1880s by the Dutch. Kaolin is usually used as an industrial material like paper, cosmetics, toothpaste, food, paint, etc. The mining was open for public and such an interesting place to visit (although we sadly know this is utilized by the other countries). We could see how blue the water that filled the huge puddle.

Pantai Lor-in might be my favorite place to make a great photograph. The pristine white sand combined with the turquoise layered sea covered this area; They were so perfect!

Pantai Tanjung Tinggi was used for the Laskar Pelangi filming location, so the beach was often referred as Laskar Pelangi Beach. There were so many beautiful large granite stones. We had lunch at the seafood restaurant in the back before playing at the beach.

Trip tips:

We used the tour services for 3 days in Belitung Island and it costed IDR 1.2 mio per person. It included: 2 nights hotel, meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner), tourist attractions tickets, and transport. There is no public transportation in Belitung. So as you arrive at the airport, I suggest you to rent a motorbike or a car for the convenient mobility.

It was all my stories in Belitung Island. The most important thing is: Indonesia is too beautiful to visit!
Let's go back to reality. Jakarta, I'm back!
